The explicit requests of a two-year-old

Comments

i was just thinking that that is very impressive coming from a two year old. i was reading in my first language acquisition book about children's use of request forms. they graded the requests on how direct they were--i thought maybe in your case it's either a question-form directive or a hint (the least direct) depending on the context. was she being sarcastic? most the studies showed that hints were used by 3 year olds, and it isn't till 3-5 years of age (in some research) do they use more than one form of requests. emma must be very sensitive/or pick up on these things easily. very interesting
I suspect she is just repeating what she has heard but changing it appropriately by changing it to emma instead of mommy...hard to tell what will come out of her mouth
